Analyzing HIL Index in Patient Admissions

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
In August 2012, three HIL index results were analyzed according to patient-admission type, age, sex, and proportion of HIL alert indices. The HIL data obtained from the Advia 2400 system (Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics) were combined with those from the Modular DPE system (Roche Diagnostics), because the analytes were measured in the Advia 2400 system (Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics) using Roche reagents.

Measurement of Cholesterol Biomarkers

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The Human 25-Hydroxycholesterol (25-HC) ELISA Kit (MyBioSource, MBS9364825), total cholesterol, HDL-Cholesterol, and LDL-Cholesterol dataset were analyzed using the modular DPE system (Roche Diagnostics, Basel, Switzerland).

Assessing Mechanical Hemolysis Impact

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
This prospective study was performed during the period of December 2012 by using 37 consecutive fresh human blood specimens that were anticoagulated with EDTA (BD Vacutainer K2 EDTA 5.4 mg, REF 367835, Becton Dickinson, Franklin Lakes, NJ, USA). All EDTA blood specimens were obtained during medical check-ups. Each specimen was divided into 3 aliquots. The first aliquot (A) was immediately tested, and the second and third aliquots (B and C, respectively) were tested after being mechanically hemolyzed by aspirating two and five times, respectively, using a 27-gauge needle. For all specimens, complete blood cell count (CBC) and automated differential count were obtained by the Advia 2120i (Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, Sacramento, CA, USA) CBC/Diff mode. After the cells were counted, aliquots B and C were centrifuged and the supernatants were tested for hemolytic index (HI) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels using Modular DPE system (Roche Diagnostics, Bazel, Switzerland).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
