Ficoll histopaque density gradient centrifugation

Manufactured by MP Biomedicals

Ficoll-Histopaque density gradient centrifugation is a laboratory technique used for the separation and isolation of different cell types from a complex mixture. It utilizes a density gradient medium to enable the separation of specific cell populations based on their density differences during centrifugation.

PBMC Isolation from Healthy Donors

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Human primary PBMCs were isolated from whole blood of healthy donors, as previously described (Barda-Saad et al., 2005 (link)). Blood samples from anonymous healthy donors were provided by Magen David Adom (MDA; Israeli National Blood Bank). Informed consent was obtained from all donors. The experiments conformed to the principles set out in the WMA Declaration of Helsinki and the Department of Health and Human Services Belmont Report. The research was performed with approval of and according to the guidelines of the Bar-Ilan University Ethics Committee. Briefly, human PBMCs were isolated from whole blood by Ficoll-Histopaque density gradient centrifugation (MP Biomedical).

Isolation of Human PBMCs

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Human primary PBMCs were isolated from whole blood of healthy donors, as previously described (Barda‐Saad et al, 2005 (link)). Blood samples from healthy donors were randomly collected and provided by Magen David Adom (MDA; Israeli National Blood Bank). Informed consent was obtained from all donors. Donor's identification information remained anonymous. The experiments conformed to the principles set out in the WMA Declaration of Helsinki and the Department of Health and Human Services Belmont Report. The research was performed with approval of and according to the guidelines of the Bar‐Ilan University Ethics committee. Briefly, human PBMCs were isolated from whole blood by Ficoll‐Histopaque density gradient centrifugation (MP Biomedical). Isolated cells were cultured in RPMI 1640 (Sigma‐Aldrich) supplemented with 10% FBS (Biological industries). All cells were grown at 37°C, under an atmosphere containing 5% CO2.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
