Cobas c 111 instrument

Manufactured by Roche

The Cobas c 111 instrument is a compact, fully automated clinical chemistry analyzer designed for high-throughput, random-access testing in small- to medium-sized laboratories. It is capable of performing a wide range of routine clinical chemistry tests, including tests for enzymes, electrolytes, and metabolites. The Cobas c 111 offers efficient workflow with minimal hands-on time and is intended to provide reliable and accurate results for patient care.

Lipid Profiling and DNA Extraction

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Lipid levels including total cholesterol, HDL, low density lipoprotein (LDL), and TG were measured on Roche Cobas c 111 instrument on all serum samples. DNA was purified from the clotted material using a Quickgene-610L DNA extraction system (Autogen, Holliston, MA, United States). Methods and protocols for the study were approved by the Committee for the Protection of Human Subjects within the Health and Human Services Agency of the State of California.

Pregnancy Biomarkers and Risk Factors

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
In addition to self-reported information of race/ethnicity and smoking status during pregnancy on birth certificates, ICD-9 codes (online supplementary appendix 1) from hospital discharge records were used to identify patients with diabetes (types 1 and 2 as well as gestational) and hypertension, which was further subdivided into the categories of chronic hypertension, gestational hypertension and pre-eclampsia de novo or imposed on prior hypertension. Obesity was measured as body mass index (BMI) in kg/m2 at onset of pregnancy with cutpoints of <18.5 for underweight, 18.5–24.9 for normal, 25–29.9 for overweight and ≥30 for obese. Serum samples from the California Biobank were collected at 15 to 20 weeks gestation during pregnancy, separated and stored at −80 degrees, then aliquoted and tested with enzymatic colorimetric tests on a Roche Cobas c111 instrument to measure total cholesterol (mg/dL), LDL (mg/dL), high-density lipoprotein (HDL) (mg/dL) and triglycerides (mg/dL).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
