Analytical-grade Reagent Preparation

All the chemicals used were of analytical grade without further purification. Benzoic acid (BA), thiamine (TH), 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propionic acid (HPPA) and Na2WO4·2H2O were obtained from the Guoyao Chemical Research Institute (Shenyang, China). Na2SiO3 was obtained from Sinopharm Chemical Reagent Co., Ltd. (Shanghai, China). Na3PO4, NaH2PO4, NaCl, HCl, Na2CO3 and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2, 30%) were purchased from Beijing Chemical Works (Beijing, China). The water used in the experiments was purified. The ρ of the water was 18 MΩ cm.

Mycotoxin Detection Using Aptamers

Mycotoxin standards including AFB1, AFM1, OTA, ZEN, FB1, and DON were purchased from Pribolab (Singapore, Singapore). A total of seven oligonucleotide sequences against AFB1 and each corresponding complementary ssDNA were synthesized and purified through HPLC by Sangon Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (Shanghai, China), and these aptamers were listed in Table 1 and their corresponding complementary sequences (Seq) was listed in Table S1. The fluorescent dye PicoGreen was purchased from Invitrogen (Carlsbad, CA, USA). The areca nuts, lotus seed, malt, Radix Paeoniae Alba, and Chinese yam were collected from China, India, Philippines, and Indonesia. Acetonitrile, methanol, Tris-HCl, EDTA-2Na, Na2CO3, NaHCO3, and NaCl was analytical grade and purchased from Beijing Chemical Works (Beijing, China). PestiCarb (GCB 120-400 Mesh), octadecylsilane (C18) and Cleanert primary secondary amine (PSA, 40–60 μm) were from Beijing Agela Technologies Inc. Deionized water was purified using a Milli-Q system (Millipore, CA, USA).

Corrosion Inhibition of Mild Steel

Analytical grade β-CD, CA, glutaraldehyde, and D2O were obtained commercially from Innochem Company (Beijing, China). The absolute ethanol, NaCl, and Na2CO3 provided by Beijing Chemical Works (Beijing, China) were also of analytical purity. All chemicals were used as received without further purification.
The lab-made deionized water with a resistivity of 18.2 MΩ·cm (25 °C) was used to prepare all solutions in this study. As a special case, 3.5% NaCl (mass ratio) solution, employed as the corrosive medium, was prepared by dissolving solid NaCl in the deionized water. Q235A mild steel coupons with a dimension of 5.0 × 2.5 × 0.2 cm3 (Tianjin Institute of Chemical Research and Design, Tianjin, China) were used as the metal substrates, the composition of which is listed in Table S1.

R. grade) were brought from China National Medicines Co., Ltd. 1,4-Naphthalenedicarboxylic acid (H2NDC, 99% purity), 2-naphthalenemethanol (98% purity), 1-phenylethanol (97% purity), 1-(4-methoxyphenyl)ethanol (95% purity), and furfuryl alcohol (98% purity) were purchased from J&K Scientific Co., Ltd. Benzyl alcohol was supplied by Alfa Aesar China Co., Ltd. All these materials were used directly without further purification.
