Establishment of Hypopharyngeal Cell Models

Human hypopharyngeal primary cells (HHPC) were obtained from Celprogen Inc. CA, USA. The HHPC were plated in non-coated flasks and were grown in Human Hypopharyngeal Normal Cell Culture Media with Serum (Celprogen Inc. CA, USA), at 37°C in humidified air and 5% CO2. Cells were sub-cultured and media were gradually replaced by Serum Free Media (Celprogen Inc. CA, USA).

Culturing Human Hypopharyngeal Cell Lines

Human hypopharyngeal carcinoma cell, FaDu, was purchased from the American Type Culture Collection (Manassas, VA, USA) and cultured in Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium with 10% fetal bovine serum (Gibco-BRL, Carlsbad, CA, USA) and penicillin-streptomycin at 37°C incubator according to previous study [15 (link)]. Human hypopharyngeal primary cells (HHPCs) were purchased from Celprogen Inc. (Carlsbad, CA, USA) and cultured in Human Hypopharyngeal Normal Cell Culture Media with Serum (Celprogen) according to previous study [16 (link)].

Cultivation of Human Hypopharyngeal Cells
