Sciatic Nerve Injury Model in Rats

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Unilateral or bilateral sciatic nerve injection was performed on adult female Fischer 344 rats (120-135g) unresponsive to toe or tail pinch under isoflurane anaesthetic. The sciatic nerve was exposed as above and injected with 4μl (2μl/branch) 1%wt/vol LPC in PBS with 10%vol/vol DMSO, 2μl (1μl/branch) of 0.01%, 0.05% or 0.1%wt/vol EtBr in PBS or PBS alone. Injections were made longitudinally towards the DRG, with a 36ga NanoFil needle (World Precision Instruments Inc., Sarasota, FL) at a rate of 2μl/min and the needle was held in place for an additional 10s following injection. After injection, the skin was closed with surgical staples.

Cre-Expressing AAV2/6 Injection in Mouse Motor Cortex

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Adult female C57BL/6J mice (6.1±0.1 weeks old) were deeply anaesthetized with isoflurane until unresponsive to toe and tail pinch and the area over the skull was shaved and cleaned with povidone-iodine before incision. The skull was thinned bilaterally over the motor cortex and self-complementary AAV2/6 Cre-HA (Salk Institute for Biological Studies Gene Transfer, Targeting and Therapeutics Core, La Jolla, CA) [1.49×1011 genome copies/ml] was injected into 10 sites per hemisphere (250nl/site) with a 36ga NanoFil needle (World Precision Instruments Inc., Sarasota, FL).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
