Adipose Tissue Lipolysis Measurement

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Lipolysis rate was measured as described previously [41 (link)]. Briefly, 0.2 g adipose tissues were minced and added into a N-tris-(hydroxymethyl)-methyl-2-aminoethanesulfonic acid (25 mM) buffer containing isoproterenol (1 μM). A glycerol detection kit (Randox, Amtrim, UK) was used to measure the glycerol levels in samples after 1, 2, and 3 h of incubation at 37 °C and the absorbance was recorded at 520 nm. The lipolysis rate was expressed by nano-moles glycerol/gram adipose tissue/h.

Measuring Adipose Tissue Lipolysis and LPL Activity

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Lipolysis rate was determined by the measurement of glycerol levels as described previously [15 (link)]. A glycerol detection kit (Randox, Antrim, UK) was used to assay the levels of glycerol in samples. The nano-moles glycerol/gram adipose tissue/h was used to express the lipolysis rate.
LPL activity was detected by measurement of p-nitrophenol formation as described previously [15 (link)]. The absorbance at 400 nm was used for detection.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
