The frequencies of genotypes and alleles were determined by the gene counting method. To compare the obtained frequency distribution of genotypes in the control group with the expected values of the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium, we applied the chi-square test. In all tests, the value of P<0.05 was considered significant. All statistical analyses were performed using Statistica software 5.0 (Statsoft Inc., Palo Alto, CA, USA).
