Timed matings, with the morning the vaginal plug was observed being denoted as E0.5, were used to generate embryos at various stages that were harvested for either wholemount staining or tissue dissection. At least two litters of embryos were analyzed at each developmental stage examined. Both male and female embryos were analyzed.
