Ezrmi 13k rat mouse insulin elisa

Manufactured by Merck Group
Sourced in Germany

The EZRMI-13K Rat/Mouse insulin ELISA is a laboratory equipment product designed for the quantitative measurement of insulin levels in rat and mouse samples. It utilizes the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) technique to detect and quantify insulin concentrations.

Insulin Concentration Measurement by ELISA

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Insulin concentrations were measured by ELISA (EZRMI-13K Rat/Mouse insulin ELISA, Merck Millipore) according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Samples were diluted in matrix solution to fall within the range of the assay. Internal controls supplied with the kit were run alongside the samples and were in the expected range.

Measuring Lipid and Insulin Profiles

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Total cholesterol (TC) and triglycerides (TG) were measured by an automatic spectrophotometer using its recommended commercial kit (Bioclin System II, Quibasa, Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil). Plasma concentrations of insulin were measured using the Single Plex kit (EZRMI-13K Rat/Mouse Insulin ELISA, Millipore Merck, Darmstadt, Germany). The homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) was estimated: HOMA-IR = fasting blood glucose (mmol/L) × fasting serum insulin (IU/mL)/22.5 [14] (link), as well as the quantitative insulin sensitivity check index (QUICKI): [1/log (fasting insulin μU/mL) + log (fasting glucose mg/dL)] [15] (link).

Triglycerides, Insulin, and Insulin Resistance

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
We measured total triglycerides (TG, automatic spectrophotometer and the commercial kit Bioclin System II, Quibasa, Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil) and insulin levels (Single Plex kit, EZRMI-13K rat/ mouse insulin ELISA, Millipore Merck, Darmstadt, Germany) (n ϭ 10/group for each analysis). Further, we determined the homeostasis model assessment index-insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) [(insulin ϫ glucose)/22.5] (32), and the quantitative insulin sensitivity check index (QUICKI) [1/log (fasting insulin U/ml) ϩ log (fasting glucose mg/dl)] (24).

Blood Collection for Insulin and Leptin Analysis

Blood was obtained in the morning, when the mice were killed, from mice fasted for 12 h. As described in Western C 2017 The Authors. Plasma analyses were performed only for saline-injected mice. Trunk blood was collected in Eppendorf tubes containing heparin (1:1000 dilution). Plasma was obtained by centrifugation (3,000 × g for 10 min) and stored at -80°C for determination of insulin (EZRMI-13K | Rat/Mouse Insulin ELISA; Merck Millipore, Darmstadt, Germany) and leptin (EZML-82K | Rat/Mouse Leptin ELISA; Merck Millipore).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
