Hba1c assay kit

Manufactured by Crystal Chem
Sourced in United States

The HbA1c assay kit is a laboratory equipment used for the measurement of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels in the blood. HbA1c is an important biomarker for the assessment of long-term blood glucose control in individuals with diabetes.

Rat HbA1c Measurement Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The HbA1c test, is an important blood test that gives a good indication of controlled diabetes condition. For this test, heart-collected blood sample was utilized to measure rat HbA1c levels in HbA1c assay kit (Crystal chem, cat number: 80300).

Evaluating Diabetes Treatment in db/db Mice

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
For 7-week experiment, the db/db mice with 23.7 ± 2.5 mM blood glucose were chosen, and the once daily EXE doses were the same as those described above. The BGL and body weight were measured before administration at predetermined time points. The mice had free access to water and standard chow during the whole experiment.
After the 7-week administration, the db/db mice were fasting for 12 h, and then the blood sample was collected from the eye ground vein. The HbA1c concentration in the whole blood sample was analyzed using HbA1c assay kit (Crystal Chem Inc., Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA). The insulin and C-peptide concentrations in the plasma of the sample were analyzed using the corresponding Elisa kit (Crystal Chem Inc.).

Glycemic Markers in Murine Metabolism

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) has been validated as a reliable marker to measure glycemic control in mice (Feng et al., 2019 (link); Han et al., 2008 (link); Dan et al., 1997 (link)). Whole blood HbA1c and plasma levels of TAG and prolactin were measured. HbA1c was measured in whole undiluted blood collected in EDTA tubes using a commercial HbA1c assay kit (Crystal Chem, Elk Grove Village, IL, USA). Plasma TAG was measured by preparing a 1:5 dilution using the Cayman Chemical kit. Plasma prolactin was measured in a 1:20 dilution of plasma using a commercially available ELISA kit (ab100736, Abcam, MA, USA). All assays were performed following the manufacturers’ instructions.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
