Axiom 600 k genome wide chicken array kit

Manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific
Sourced in United States

The Axiom 600 K Genome-Wide Chicken Array Kit is a high-density genotyping array designed for whole-genome analysis of chickens. It provides comprehensive genomic coverage with approximately 600,000 genetic markers, enabling researchers to conduct a wide range of genetic studies, including genome-wide association studies, genomic selection, and population genetics analyses.

Genotyping of Chicken Samples from FTA Cards

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Genomic DNA was extracted from blood preserved on Whatman FTA cards (GE Healthcare, Chicago, IL, USA, CAT#WB120401). A total of 526 individuals that met concentration and DNA quality requirements were genotyped on the Axiom 600 K Genome-Wide Chicken Array Kit (Affymetrix, Santa Clara, CA, USA, CAT#902148) by Geneseek (Lincoln, NE, USA). SNPs were then filtered for a call rate greater than 95% and minor allele frequency of greater than 0.01. After quality filtering, 304,500 SNPs were used in the downstream analysis from 526 individuals. SNP positions were mapped to the galGal 5 reference genome.

Genotyping of Chicken Genome

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Genotyping was performed using the same methodology as previously described [23 (link)]. Genomic DNA was extracted from chicken blood and genotyped on the Axiom® 600K Genome-Wide Chicken Array Kit (Affymetrix CAT#902148) by Geneseek (Lincoln, NE, USA). After the filtration of SNPs based on a call rate greater than 95% and a minor allele frequency of greater than 0.01, genotypes for 304,500 SNPs on 526 individuals were used in the downstream analysis. SNP positions were mapped to the genome based on the galGal 6 reference genome.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
