Qiaamp viral rna mini kittm

Manufactured by Qiagen
Sourced in Germany

The QIAamp Viral RNA Mini Kit is a laboratory equipment designed for the purification of viral RNA from various sample types. It utilizes a silica-based membrane technology to efficiently capture and purify viral RNA, which can then be used for downstream applications such as PCR or sequencing.

RNA Extraction and YFV Detection

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
RNA was extracted from tissue samples using the QIAamp Viral RNA Mini KitTM (Qiagen, Hilden, Germany) or the MagMAX pathogen RNA/DNA kit (Life Technologies, Carlsbad, USA) according to the manufacturer’s instructions. YFV RNA was detected using the reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) protocol described by Domingo et al. (46 (link)).

Arboviral Identification in Mosquitoes

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The screening in the pools of mosquitoes for arboviral identification was performed as described by Tschá et al. (Tschá et al. 2019 ). Briefly, pools of mosquitoes were mechanically lysed in RNase-free phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) and RNA was extracted using the QIAamp Viral RNA Mini KitTM (Qiagen, Hilden, Germany) according to the manufacturer’s protocol. Alphavirus and flavivirus prospection were performed using generic primers and protocol described by Sánchez-Seco et al. (Sánchez-Seco et al. 2001 , 2005 ). The alphavirus-positive pools in this set screening were confirmed using an additional generic RT-PCR protocol (Hermanns et al. 2017 (link)). All PCR products were visualized on an 1.5 per cent agarose gel stained with ethidium bromide. PCR products were purified using the High Pure PCR Product Purification Kit (Roche, Mannheim, Germany) before conventional Sanger sequencing for viral identity verification.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
