Probucol (0.125 g tablets) was obtained from Qilu Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. (Shandong Sheng, People's Republic of China). Before feeding, Probucol was suspended in 2 ml of 0.5% carboxymethyl cellulose sodium salt (CMC-Na) solution. A total of 28 clean-grade male Wistar (WT) rats at 6~8 weeks of age and a weight of 180~200 g were purchased from Beijing Vital River Laboratory Animal Technology Co. Ltd. (Animal Certificate of Conformity: SCXK (Beijing) 2006–0008). The animals were adaptively fed in the clean animal room at the Experimental Animal Center of the Academy of Military Medical Sciences for 1 week. Probucol in Conventional Treatment

In conventional treatment, the following drugs were administered: antiplatelet agents, nitrate vasodilators, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, and α receptor blockers. For patients in the observation group, Probucol was given at a dose of 500 mg twice a day for 16 weeks in addition to the conventional treatment.
