LYC, complete Freund’s adjuvant (CFA), and corn oil were obtained from Solarbio (Beijing, China). The primary antibodies, including anti-GAPDH, anti-p-PI3K, anti-PI3K, anti-p-Akt, anti-Akt, anti-p-m-TOR, anti-m-TOR, anti-Bax, anti-bcl-2, anti-E-cadherin, anti-N-cadherin antibodies (at 1:1000 dilution respectively), HRP-labelled goat anti-mouse IgGs (at 1:2000 dilution), and antibodies for immunofluorescence staining were purchased from Abcam (Cambridge, MA, USA). Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) were purchased from Sigma (St. Louis, MO, USA).

To isolate S-100, livers of C57BL/6 N male mice were excised under sterile conditions and minced into small pieces on ice. After washing with PBS, the liver pieces were lysed with RIPA lysis buffer (AR0101; Boster, Wuhan, China) and the homogenates were centrifuged at 150×g for 10 min. The supernatant was collected and centrifuged at 100,000×g for 1 h. To obtain liver-specific lipoprotein S-100, a 90 cm CL-6B Sepharose® column (Pharmacia, Uppsala, Sweden) on an AKTA Pure chromatography system (GE Healthcare, Chicago, IL, USA) was used, and the first peak was collected. To construct the ILI model, mice were administered 0.5 mL of 0.5–2.0 g/L fully emulsified S-100 in an equal volume of Complete Freund's Adjuvant (CFA) (Solarbio, Beijing, China) on Days 0 and 7 by intraperitoneal injection; the control group was injected with the same amount of PBS and CFA. On Day 28 after the S-100 injection, rFGF4 (1.5 mg/kg body weight) or an equal volume of PBS was intraperitoneally injected every other day for 2 weeks.

The catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GSH‐PX), total superoxide dismutase (T‐SOD), and malondialdehyde (MDA) detection kits were supplied by Nanjing Jiancheng Institute of Biotechnology. The anti‐Erk1/2 (#9101) and anti‐phospho‐Erk1/2 (#9911) antibodies, anti‐P38 MAPK (#8690) and anti‐phospho‐P38 MAPK (#4511) antibodies, anti‐SAPK/JNK (#9252) and anti‐phospho‐SAPK/JNK (#4668) antibodies, and anti‐NF‐κB P65 (#8242) and anti‐phospho‐NF‐κB P65 (#3033) antibodies were obtained from Cell Signaling Technology. In addition, the anti‐Nrf2 antibody (ab76026) was derived from Abcam, and the anti‐phospho‐Nrf2 antibody (PA5‐102838) was provided by eBioscience (Affymetrix, Delaware).
