All other synthetic materials were obtained from Sigma-Aldrich and were used without further purification unless otherwise noted. Thermolysin (V4001) was acquired from Promega, as a lyophilized powder and resuspended at 1 mg mL⁻¹ (27.6 µM) in milliQ H₂O into 40 µL aliquots for storage at −80 °C.
