Statistical Analyses for Empirical Studies

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Statistical analyses were performed with SPSS Statistics Data Editor v.25 (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY, USA). Chi-square or Fisher’s test were applied for categorical variables, and the Student’s t-test and Mann–Whitney U test were used for numerical variables when appropriate. Post hoc and planned comparison procedures for interpreting chi-square contingency table test results and the Bonferroni adjustment were also applied when appropriate (19 (link)). Survival was analyzed using Mantel–Cox and proportional hazard regression models, including pairwise comparisons. A p-value less than 0.05 was considered statistically significant.

Epidemiology of Haemophilus influenzae Meningitis

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The incidence of H. influenzae meningitis was calculated as the number of new episodes per 10 0 0,0 0 0 adult population ( ≥16 years of age, data from CBS Statline) per epidemiological year (July 1 -June 30). Categorical variables are expressed as counts and proportions, and continuous variables are expressed as median with interquartile range. Patient age and sex distribution by H. influenzae serotype were compared using respectively the Kruskall-Wallis and the Fisher Exact test. Univariate logistic regression was conducted to analyze the association of several baseline characteristics and bacterial serotype with unfavorable outcome. All tests were 2tailed, and p < 0.05 was considered significant. Statistical analysis were conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics data Editor (v.25).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
