Horseradish peroxidase (HRP, 304 units/mg) and 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC) were purchased from Thermo Scientific (Rockford, IL, USA). Morpholinoethanesulfonic acid (MES) and N-hydroxysulfosuccinimide (NHS) were purchased from Acros Organics (New Jersey, USA). Hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) aqueous solution (35%, w/w) was purchased from BDH Chemicals (Westchester, PA, USA). The radio-contrasts, iopamidol (Isovue) and barium sulfate (BaSO₄) suspension were purchased from Bracco (Milan, Italy). The recombinant human BMP2 powder was obtained from INFUSE^® Bone Graft (Medtronic, Minneapolis, MN) and reconstituted in sterile water according to instructions from manufacture. BMP2 Quantikine ELISA Kits were purchased from R&D Systems, Inc. (Minneapolis, MN, USA).
