Expanded graphite powder (100 mesh) was purchased from Xinghe Graphite Co., Ltd. (Qingdao, China). Chemicals used in the synthesis of GO were purchased from Beijing Chemical Works (Beijing, China). 1-Ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC) and 2-(N-morpholino)ethanesulfonic acid (MES) were purchased from the J&K (Beijing, China). Bovine serum albumin (BSA) and human α-thrombin were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich. The aptamer targeting human α-thrombin with a five T spacer (5′-TTTTT GGT TGG TGT GGT TGG-3′, named as Apt-15), with the 5′ end modified by the amino group through a C6-carbon spacer arm, was synthesized by Sangong Biotech (Beijing, China). Other chemicals and analytically pure reagents were used as received. All solutions were prepared with deionized water.

Enzymatic Glucose Biosensor Fabrication

Polyacrylamide solution (average Mw = 10,000, 50 wt % in H2O) and Nafion (product No. 274704) were purchased from Aldrich (Shang Hai, China). All aqueous solutions were prepared with deionized water (18 MΩ·cm−1) from a Millipore system. GOx and chitosan were purchased from Alfa Aesar (Shang Hai, China). . D-(+)-Glucose was bought from Sinopharm Chemical Reagent Co., Ltd. (Shang Hai, China). 1-Ethyl-3-[3-dimethylaminopropyl]carbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC) and N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) were obtained from J&K Scientific (Shang Hai, China). We used commercial compressed air from a cylinder to maintain the oxygen concentration during electrochemical experiments. All other reagents were analytical grade and used without further purification. All chemicals were stored in a 4 °C refrigerator until used.

Preparation of Amino-Modified FMT Nanoparticles

FMT synthesis has been described in previous reports 45 (link), 46 . The procedures used to prepare the amino-modified FMT are as follows. FMT nanoparticles (100 mg, containing carboxyl groups on the surface) were first dissolved in a solution of 100 mL dimethyl sulfoxide containing 12 mg of dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP, 0.1 mmol) (Sigma-Aldrich, St. Louis, MO), and were then added to 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl) carbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC) (J&K Scientific Ltd, Shanghai, China) (192 mg, 1 mmol), and N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) (J&K Scientific Ltd) (115 mg, 1 mmol). The resulting mixture was then stirred at room temperature for 2 h and 1, 3-diaminopropane (J&K Scientific Ltd) (150 mg, 2 mmol) was added to the mixture and stirred for another 24 h. Thereafter, the reaction mixture was added with excess acetone to obtain crude FMT-NH2 nanoparticles. The crude products were washed thrice with acetone and dried under reduced pressure.
