Monosaccharide Isolation from Novel Compounds

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The new compounds 3, 4, 6 and 7 (2 mg of each) were dissolved in MeOH (2 mL) and refluxed with 1.0 N HCl (2 mL) for 3 h and following by extracting with ethyl acetate. The water layer was then neutralized by Ag2CO3, and filtered to give a monosaccharide. Each monosaccharide of those compounds had an Rf (n-BuOH–AcOH–H2O, 4:1:1) and specific rotation [α]d + 52.7° (c 0.10, H2O); [α]d + 24.3° (c 0.10, H2O); [α]d + 14.4° (c 0.05, H2O) corresponding to those of d-glucose, d-xylose and d-allose (Sigma-Aldrich, St. Louis, MO, USA), respectively.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
