Mitokit cii
The MitoKit-CII is a laboratory equipment product designed for the measurement of mitochondrial complex II activity. It provides a standardized and reliable method to assess the functional capacity of this critical component of the electron transport chain within mitochondria. The product includes all necessary reagents and protocols to perform the analysis.

Measuring Mitochondrial Respiration in Platelets
Isolation of Platelets from Healthy Volunteers
Platelets were isolated from venous blood from healthy volunteers both men and women, aged between 27–32 (with one exception, a female aged 66), drawn in K2EDTA tubes according to a previously described protocol [15 (link)]. In brief, platelets were subjected to a sequence of differential centrifugations; the first at 500× g for 10 min and the second at 4600× g for 5–10 min.
Evaluating Mitochondrial Function in Human Blood Cells
Human blood cells (platelets and PBMCs) isolation was carried out from venous blood samples provided by a group of healthy volunteers, both men and women. The blood was drawn in K2EDTA tubes. Isolation was achieved by means of differential centrifugation, as previously described by Sjövall et al. [24 (link)]. Oxygen consumption was normalized to the number of cells.
About PubCompare
Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.
We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.
However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
