Photocatalytic Degradation of Metronidazole

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Analytical standard of metronidazole (MET) was purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (St. Louis, MO, USA). Two types of titanium(IV) oxide were used in this study—namely Degussa P25 (from Evonik, Essen, Germany) and TiO2 in the form of anatase from Sigma-Aldrich (St. Louis, MO, USA). Based on information from the manufacturer, the size of the anatase particles was <25 nm, while the specific surface area ranged from 45 to 55 m2 g−1. In the case of P25, its particle size was about 27 nm, and the specific surface area was at the level 57 m2 g−1. The other semiconductor catalysts such as zinc oxide, tungsten(VI) oxide, zircon (IV) oxide, and lead(II) sulphide were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (St. Louis, MO, USA). Analytical-grade methanol was purchased from CHEMPUR (Piekary Śląskie, Poland). Hypergrade acetonitrile, formic acid, trifluoroacetic acid, water, and methanol were obtained from Merck (Darmstadt, Germany) and used for the LC analyses.

Quantitative Analysis of Sulfonamide and Trimethoprim

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Analytical standards of sulfamethoxazole (SMX) and trimethoprim (TRI) were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (St. Louis, MO, USA). Hypergrade acetonitrile, formic acid, and water were purchased from Merck (Darmstadt, Germany). Analytical-grade methanol, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and disodium phosphate were purchased from CHEMPUR (Piekary Śląskie, Poland). Analytical-grade acetic acid was purchased from POCH S.A. (Gliwice, Poland). Analytical-grade acetonitrile was purchased from Eurochem (Tarnów, Poland). Analytical-grade citric acid, formic acid, and acetic acid were purchased from ChemLand (Stargard, Poland). Analytical-grade sodium hydroxide was purchased from POCH S.A. (Gliwice, Poland). Oasis HLB cartridges of varying masses of sorbent (500 mg, 6 mL; 400 mg, 6 mL; 200 mg, 3 mL) from Waters (Eschborn, Germany) were used for solid-phase extraction.

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The following reagents were used for the mineralization of lyophilized biomass, fruiting bodies, and media: 65% HNO3 Suprapur® and 30% H2O2 Suprapur® from Merck (Darmstadt, Germany). Bioelement content standards (Ca, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Na, Zn) of 1 g/L concentration were purchased from the District Measurements Office (Łódź, Poland). Artificial digestive juices were prepared using the following: HCl and pancreatic extract from Merck (Darmstadt, Germany); bile salts and pepsin from BTL (Łódź, Poland); CaCl2 and MgCl2 from Chempur (Kraków, Poland); NaCl from Pol-Aura (Dywity, Poland); NaHCO3 from PPH Golpharm (Kraków, Poland); and Na2HPO4, KHCO3, K2HPO4, and citric acid from Avantor Performance Materials Poland (Gliwice, Poland). HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography)-grade standards of cordycepin, lovastatin, ergothioneine, L-phenylalanine, sterols, and indole and phenolic compounds were obtained from Merck (Darmstadt, Germany). Analytical-grade methanol, acetic acid, phosphoric acid, and ammonium acetate were purchased from Chempur (Gliwice, Poland). HPLC-grade methanol, acetonitrile, and KH2PO4 were purchased from Merck (Darmstadt, Germany). Water (quadruple-distilled) with a conductivity of less than 1 µS/cm was obtained using an S2-97A2 distillation apparatus from Chemland (Stargard, Poland).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
