1

Serum Enzyme and Lipid Levels

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The levels of serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), triglyceride (TG) and cholesterol (Chol) were measured with IDEXX Catalyst Dx analyzer (IDEXX Laboratories, Westbrook, Maine).

Plasma Biomarker Quantification Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Whole blood was collected by cardiac puncture in EDTA-coated tubes. Plasma was collected by centrifugation at 3000g at 4°C for 15 minutes. Plasma was kept on ice or at –20°C for longer storage. ALT in the plasma samples was measured by using an IDEXX Catalyst DX analyzer (IDEXX Laboratories). Heme concentration in plasma was measured by the hemin colorimetric assay kit (GWB-AXR320, Genway Biotech). Hpx in plasma was measured by ELISA (NBP2-60633, Novus Biologicals).

Muscle Damage Biomarker Evaluation

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Serum creatine kinase (CK) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) were used for evaluation of muscle damage. Blood samples were collected at the indicated time points from the heart, immediately before induced death. Serum samples were analyzed on an IDEXX Catalyst DX analyzer (IDEXX Laboratories).

Canine Blood Analysis: Serum, Hematological, and Biochemical Profiles

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Blood samples obtained by jugular or cephalic venipuncture from each dog using the vacutainer blood collection system were drawn into 2 different types of tubes: with no additive and containing tripotassium ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (K3EDTA). After collection, samples without additive were centrifuged (ALC 4235 A, Milan, Italy) at 3000 rpm for 20 min. Serum samples obtained after centrifugation were divided into aliquots and processed. Hematological evaluations were performed using a hematology analyzer on the basis of focused flow impedance and flow cytometry (ProCyte Dx, Idexx Laboratories, Westbrook, ME, USA). Serum obtained from centrifugation was used to perform a biochemical examination using a chemistry analyzer (Catalyst Dx Analyzer, Idexx Laboratories, Westbrook, ME, USA). Amino-transferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), glucose (GLU), urea (URE), total protein (TP), albumin (ALB), creatinine (CREA), sodium (Na+), potassium (K+), and total Ca2+ were assayed.

Complete Blood Count and Lipid Panel

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
CBC analysis was performed by the Comparative Pathology Laboratory at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai using an IDEXX ProCyte Dx Hematology Analyzer (IDEXX BioResearch). Cell counts of RBCs, WBCs, platelets, monocytes, lymphocytes, and neutrophils were obtained using standard procedures according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Plasma was sent to IDEXX laboratories for chemical testing. Levels of total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides were measured according to standard procedures using a Catalyst Dx Analyzer (IDEXX BioResearch).

Equine Biochemistry Profiling Using Idexx Catalyst

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
An IDEXX Catalyst Dx Analyzer (Idexx Catalyst Chemistry Analyzer, Westbrook, ME) was used for biochemical profiles. The Equine 15 Clip (eIdexx Equine Clip 15, Westbrook, ME) was used for comprehensive biochemistry testing and included albumin, globulin, total protein, gamma‐glutamyl transferase (GGT), creatinine, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), BUN/creatinine ratio, calcium, aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALKP) total bilirubin, and creatine kinase (CK). Each horse had biochemistry profiles run on pregabapentin plasma and on days 7 and 14 for each dose of 40 or 120 mg/kg.

Serum Biomarkers in Mouse Model

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Serum from mice was collected and frozen at −80°C. Serum CK and LDH concentrations were analyzed using the Catalyst DX analyzer (IDEXX) following the manufacturer’s instructions. The cTnI content was determined using the Mouse cTnI ELISA kit (H149-2; Jiancheng Biotech) by a microplate reader.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
