Magnetom verio 3 t mri system

Manufactured by Siemens
Sourced in Germany

The Magnetom Verio 3 T MRI System is a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner produced by Siemens. It operates at a magnetic field strength of 3 Tesla, which allows for high-quality imaging and advanced diagnostic capabilities. The system is designed to capture detailed images of the body's internal structures and functions.

Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation of Parietal Cortex

A DC Stimulator Plus (NeuroConn, Ilmenau, Germany) was used to deliver a direct current over the OP through two sponge surface electrodes (surface area=5×5 cm2) soaked with sodium chloride. These experiments were conducted according to a bihemispheric protocol in which the center of each of two stimulation electrodes was placed over one of the two bilateral OPs. Stimulation points were determined through anatomical brain images obtained using a Magnetom Verio 3 T MRI System (Siemens Ltd, Bavaria, Germany) and a Brainsight2 frameless stereotaxic navigation system (Rogue Research Inc., Montreal, Quebec, Canada). The OP is part of the parietal lobe and includes the secondary somatosensory cortex. Here, it was defined as the cortical area adjacent to the junction of the rostral end of the postcentral gyrus and the upper bank of the sylvian fissure 5 (link). Under the real tDCS conditions (LA/RC and LC/RA), the current was ramped up over the first 15 s to a maximum of 2 mA, held constant for 690 s, and then ramped down over the last 15 s. For the sham condition, the same procedure was used, but the constant current was delivered for only 15 s.

Multimodal MRI Acquisition Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Functional MR images were collected using Siemens magnetom verio 3T MRI system. A time course series of 174 volumes was acquired with a T2-weighted single shot gradient echo planar imaging (EPI) sequence. Each volume consisted of 36 slices, with a slice thickness of 3 mm and a gap of 0.75 mm, and covered the almost the whole brain. Images were acquired in the axial plane (TR = 3000 ms; TE = 30 ms; FOV = 210 mm; voxel size = 3 × 3 × 3 mm). The total acquisition time was 10 min 8 s, including periods for signal equilibration. T1-weighted structural images were acquired with 3-D magnetization prepared rapid gradient echo (MPRAGE) in the sagittal plane (TR = 2040 ms; TE = 2.53 ms; TI = 900 ms; the flip angle was 9°; FOV = 192 mm; voxel size = 1 × 1 × 1 mm).

Multimodal Neuroimaging Protocol for Brain Analysis

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
MRI was performed using the Magnetom Verio 3T MRI System (Siemens AG. München, Germany). To obtain reference images for analysis, T1-weighted magnetic resonance rapid gradient-echo (T1-weighted MPRAGE) imaging was performed using the following parameters: repetition time/time to echo (TR/TE) = 1900 ms/2.52 ms, voxel size = 1 mm × 1 mm × 1 mm, flip angle = 9°, and field of view = 256×192.
To obtain resting-state fMRI images, single-shot echo-planar imaging was performed using the following parameters: TR/TE = 2500 ms/25 ms, 30 axial slices, voxel size = 6 mm × 6 mm × 4 mm, 1 mm inter-slice gap, flip angle 90°, matrix size = 64 × 64, field of view = 384 mm × 384 mm. After excluding the first five scans from each session, data from 145 scans were used for analysis.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
