Fetal bovine serum (FBS), phosphate-buffered saline (PBS), L-glutamine, trypsin, and antibiotics were purchased from Gibco (Life Technologies, Carlsbad, CA, USA). Trans-polydatin with a purity grade higher than 99% was provided by Glures S.r.l., Academic Spin-Off of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (Venice, Italy). Minimum Essential Medium Eagle Alpha Modification (α-MEM) was purchased from Gibco, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc. (Waltham, MA, USA). All other regents used in this study were of analytical grade. Quantitative Cell Culture Assay Protocol

Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (4.5 mg mL -1 glucose), penicillin, streptomycin, glutamine, trypsin solution for cell culture (0.05% (w/v)) were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (Saint-Quentin Fallavier, France) and fetal bovine serum from Invitrogen Life technologies (Cergy Pontoise, France). The bicinchoninic acid (BCA) and Bradford protein assays were purchased from Thermo scientific (Villebon-sur-Yvette, France) and from Expedeon (San Diego, USA), respectively and chemicals for SDS/PAGE from Bio-Rad (Marnes La Coquette, France).
OxyBlot TM protein oxidation detection kit was purchased from Millipore (Molsheim, France).
All other reagents were obtained from Sigma-Aldrich, unless specified.
