Manufactured by Merck Group
Sourced in United States

MALDI-TOF (Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Time-of-Flight) is a type of mass spectrometry instrument used for the analysis of biomolecules, such as proteins, peptides, and oligonucleotides. It utilizes a pulsed laser beam to ionize and vaporize samples that have been mixed with a matrix substance, allowing for the detection and identification of the molecular masses of the sample components.

PLs used as standards for HPTLC, MALDI–TOF, DI-ESI–MS and MS–MS analysis (1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine, 2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine, and cardiolipin sodium salt from bovine heart) were from Sigma-Aldrich Chemical Co., St. Louis, MO, USA or (1-palmitoyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine, 1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoinositol ammonium salt, and 1-palmitoyl-2-linoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine sodium salt) from Avanti Polar Lipids, Alabaster, MA, USA. Chemicals for MS systems (chloroform, methanol, 2-propanol, and acetonitrile were all of LC–MS grade) and Molybdenum Blue reagent for HPTLC were obtained from Merck (Darmstadt, Germany), and 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid (DHB) and trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) were obtained from Sigma-Aldrich (St. Louis, MO, USA). Viability Kit LIVE/DEADTM BacLightTM from Invitrogen was used in the viability assay.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
