Evaluation of PCR Data Normality and Statistical Analysis

Chick Embryo Calcium Signaling Assay

In order to avoid biasing samples from specific cords we assessed ratios from 10 cells per cord. Data from cell averages are expressed as the mean ± S.E.M. Paired Student T-tests and ANOVA (repeated measures) with Bonferroni post hoc test were conducted in IBM SPSS Statistics Program and used for statistical analysis where appropriate. Significance was established based on a p value <0.05. Sample size for SBFI measurements was above that proposed by power analysis (G*Power) with a power of 0.8, an alpha of 0.05, and an effect size of 0.2. Non-linear regression analyses were conducted in IBM SPSS Statistics Program. Experiments were not blinded.
We have institutional approval for all experiments carried out in the lab (Emory Office of Sponsored Programs and Research Safety Office/Biosafety). Chick Embryos do not require an IACUC Protocol. We have used both sexes of chick embryo.

Evaluating Cost Differences in CPAP Systems
