Lipoprotein Characterization Using Spectroscopy

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Ultrapure water (18.2 Ω cm−1) was used for all experiments. D2O was provided by the ISIS neutron source (Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Didcot, UK). Buffered solutions were made by dissolving a buffer tablet which was pre-adjusted to pH 7.4 in either H2O or D2O (50 mM Tris with 150 mM NaCl). Chloroform anhydrous ≥99% and calcium chloride dihydrate were purchased from Sigma Aldrich and used as received. Hydrogenated and tail deuterated (1,2-dimyristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine) DMPC and (1,2-dimyristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine) DMPS were purchased from Avanti Polar Lipids, US. Protein concentration was used as a measure for the concentration of lipoprotein in solution. Bradford Reagent was used for protein determination as previously detailed58 (link). Phosphate analysis was performed using the method outlined in Rouser et al.59 (link) and showed for the same protein concentration LDL contained twice the number of phospholipid molecules compared to HDL.

Synthesis of Zinc(II) Complexes with Amino Acids

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Zinc (II) acetylacetonate monohydrate (Alfa Aesar, Ward Hill, MA, USA), l-tryptophan, l-phenylalanine, 4-pyridinecarboxaldehyde, methanol anhydrous 99.8%, benzene anhydrous 99.8%, chloroform anhydrous 99%, and tetrahydrofuran anhydrous 99.9% were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich, Poland, and potassium hydroxide reagent grade was received from Merck. All these chemicals were used as received.
l-lactide (Forusorb, medical grade) was received from Foryou Medical Device Co., Ltd. Huizhou, Guangdong, China, and before use was purified by recrystallization from dry ethyl acetate.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
