Eight- to ten-week-old C57BL/6J mice were purchased from CLEA Japan, Inc. (Osaka, Japan). C57BL/6-Tg (UBC-GFP) and 30Scha/J (GFP-Tg) mice were purchased from The Jackson Laboratory (Bar Harbor, ME, USA). Langerin-diphtheria toxin receptor (DTR) mice were gifted by Prof Kabashima of Kyoto University after the approval of the founder, Dr Bernard Malissen27 (link). B6;129P-Ccr4tm1pwr/J mice were obtained from Dr Nakamura’s laboratory23 (link). Mice were genotyped using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with tail DNA and the primers shown in Supplementary Table 1 . For the in vivo experiments, mice were anesthetized with 1.5% isoflurane (Wako Co., Tokyo, Japan) using an inhalation gas anesthesia system for small laboratory animals.

Animals were maintained at a controlled temperature, humidity, and on a 12-h light/dark cycle.
