Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs, diameter: 10–20 nm, length: 5–15 μm), cysteamine, dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC), 1-ethyl-3- (3-dimethyl aminopropyl) carbodiimide (EDC), and N-Hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) were purchased from Aladdin (Shanghai, China). The buffer solutions used in this study were as follows: the buffer for immobilization of the probe ssDNA contained 10 mM Tris-HCl, 1 mM ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), and 1 M NaCl (pH 8.0). The hybridization buffer was a 10 mM phosphate buffer solution (PBS) containing 1 M NaCl (pH 7.4).

All chemicals were of analytical grade, and all stock solutions were prepared using deionized or autoclaved water.
