APOE Genotyping from Whole Blood

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
DNA was extracted from whole blood samples; two TaqMan assays (Rs429358 and Rs7412, Assay-On-Demand, Applied Biosystems) were used and run on a 7900HT analyser (Applied Biosystems) and genotypes indicated by the Sequence Detection Software version 2.0 (Applied Biosystems). APOE was modelled as those with and without ε4 allele(s).

Total RNA Extraction and RT-qPCR Analysis

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Total RNA was extracted as before and reverse transcribed using MMLV Reverse Transcriptase (Promega) with random hexamer primers (Promega) according to the manufacturer's instructions. All RT-qPCR assays were performed with exon-spanning TaqMan RNA expression assays (Invitrogen) using Universal Master Mix II (Invitrogen two) on a 7900HT analyser (Applied Biosystems). Treated samples were normalized to controls with the ΔΔCt formula using 18S rRNA as an endogenous control.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
