Tablet-Based Data Collection and Mapping

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Tablet PCs (SM-Galaxy T350NZAAXAR/Samsung/Seoul, Korea; MediaPad T1 7.0/Huawei/ Shenzhen, China) were used to administer the questionnaires, and the completeness, correctness, and consistency of answers were checked on the spot. The laboratory results were entered into the tablet PCs by state coordinators. All the data were submitted to the central level by state coordinators, and national coordinators analyzed the progress of the survey and survey results on a daily basis. Using the tablet PCs, we could determine the longitude and latitude of a school, but this was difficult if the tablet PC was not connected to the internet. In such cases, a handheld GPS device (eTrex, Garmin International, Olathe, KS, USA) was used to collect the coordinates of the schools.
The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 21 (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY, USA) will be used for the data analysis. Maps of schistosomiasis and STH prevalence will be developed using ArcGIS version 9.2 (Esri, Redlands, CA, USA).

Nationwide Survey of Household Water and Sanitation

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
In total, 655 people were temporarily employed for the survey, most of whom were government officials or experienced laboratory technicians in state-run hospitals. Participants were interviewed about their behaviors and the water source and type of sanitation used in their household (Supporting Information S1 Text). School-level latrine and water sources were directly observed. We used tablet PCs (SM-Galaxy T350NZAAXAR, Samsung, Seoul, Korea; MediaPad T17.0, Huawei, Shenzhen, China) to enter the laboratory and interview results. The main purpose of using tablet PCs was to help central supervisors conduct real-time monitoring of the survey on a daily basis. State coordinators submitted all the data, which were subsequently exported into SPSS. National coordinators monitored ongoing progress and analyzed the preliminary results on a daily basis. Geographical coordinates were collected by either the PCs when connected to the internet or a handheld GPS device (eTrex, Garmin International, Olathe, KS, USA). We used STATA v.13 (StataCorp LLC, College Station, TX, USA) for statistical analyses in this study. Sample weighting was applied by state according to the sex ratio and population size of each district.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
