Cell culture medium

Manufactured by ScienCell
Sourced in United States

Cell culture medium is a carefully formulated liquid solution that provides the necessary nutrients, growth factors, and other components to support the growth and maintenance of cells in a controlled laboratory environment. It serves as a critical tool for culturing and maintaining various types of cells, including primary cells, cell lines, and stem cells. The core function of cell culture medium is to create an optimal and standardized environment for cells to thrive, allowing researchers to study and manipulate cellular behavior in a controlled setting.

PASMC Culture and Maintenance

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
PASMCs and cell culture medium components were obtained from ScienCell Research Laboratories (San Diego, CA), and used according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Briefly, PASMCs were maintained in smooth muscle cell medium (SMCM) supplemented with 2% fetal bovine serum (FBS), 1% penicillin / streptomycin and 1% mixed growth factors at 5% CO2 and 37 °C. The cells were starved for 24 h in SMCM with serum and growth factors free before subsequent experiments. Platelet derived growth factor (PDGF)-BB was obtained from Roche Group (Roche, USA).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
