Measuring Urinary Albumin-Creatinine Ratio

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
We measured the urinary albumin and creatinine levels using the ELISA kit, Albuwell M (Exocell, Philadelphia, United States), and the QuantiChromTM Creatinine Assay Kit (Bioassay systems, CA, United States), respectively, following the manufacturer’s instructions. Urinary albuminuria levels were expressed as albumin/creatinine ratio (uACR, μg/mg).

Quantitative Biomarker Measurement

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The urine albumin, NAG, creatinine and serum creatinine concentrations were measured with an ELISA kit (Exocell; Shibayagi, Gunma, Japan), a NAG test (Nanjing Jiancheng Bioengineering Institute; Nanjing, China) and QuantichromTM creatinine assay kit (Bioassay system; CA), respectively. For all of the assays, the samples were run in duplicate and the results were averaged.

Urinary Albumin and Creatinine Measurement

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Before the mice were euthanized, they were provided water ad libitum, and 24-h urine was collected in metabolic cages. The urinary albumin concentration was measured by using a Mouse Albumin ELISA Quantitation Set (Bethyl Laboratories, Inc., Montgomery, TX, USA). The urinary creatinine concentration in the same sample was measured by using the QuantiChromTM Creatinine Assay Kit (BioAssay Systems, Hayward, CA, USA) according to the manufacturer’s protocol.

Quantification of Urinary Biomarkers by ELISA

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
All of the utilized enzyme-linked immunosorbent serum assays (ELISAs) are listed in Table 2. The assays were measured according to manufacturer instructions (Nordic Bioscience), and all except sauC3M (sandwich ELISA) were competitive ELISAs. Each ELISA plate included kit control samples to monitor inter-assay variation. All samples were measured within the range of the specific assay. All samples below the lower limit of quantification (LLOQ) were assigned the value of LLOQ. Urinary biomarker levels were normalized for urinary creatinine concentration, measured with the QuantiChromTM Creatinine Assay Kit (Bioassay Systems, Hayward, USA). Samples analyzed for biomarkers in the present study were stored at −80° Celsius.

Murine Urinary Albumin and Creatinine Quantification

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The murine specific urinary albumin level was measured using a murine microalbuminuria ELISA kit (albuwell M Test kit, Exocell, Inc. Philadelphia; Cosmo Bio Co., LTD). The urinary creatinine levels were measured using a QuantiChromTM Creatinine Assay Kit (BioAssay System). We used SoftMax pro 6.4 to analyze the urinary albumin and creatinine levels.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
