Mice used for immunohistochemistry and fluorescent microscopy were anesthetized by i.p. injection with 10 mg/kg Xylazine (Rompun, Bayer Healthcare, Shawnee Mission, KS) and 50 mg/kg Ketamine (Ketalar, Pfizer, Sandwich, Kent, UK). Blood samples were taken through the apex, before mice were flushed with PBS and fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde by retrograde perfusion via the left ventricle. Subsequently, mice were fixed for an additional 6 hours in paraformaldehyde and transferred to 1x PBS. Mice used for Western blot were likewise anesthetized, blood samples were taken and relevant organs were removed and snapfrozen in liquid nitrogen.
About PubCompare
Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.
We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.
However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
