Protaper next nickel titanium files

Manufactured by Dentsply
Sourced in Switzerland

ProTaper Next is a line of nickel-titanium endodontic files manufactured by Dentsply. The files are designed to shape and prepare root canals during endodontic treatment. This product offers a precise and efficient root canal preparation.

Root Canal Preparation and Obturation

The root canals’ preparation was performed with an endomotor (X-Smart Plus; Dentsply Maillefer, Switzerland) and ProTaper Next nickel-titanium files (Dentsply Maillefer, Switzerland) up to the size of X3 (300 rpm, 2 N/cm, size 30, 0.06 taper). At biomechanical preparation, 2 ml of 2.5 % NaOCl was applied to the root canals between each file. 17 % EDTA was used for the final irrigation, and saline solution was then administered to neutralize all the residues. The cold lateral condensation method with root canal sealer (AH Plus; Dentsply Maillefer, Switzerland) and gutta percha was used for obturation. The samples were stored in a humid medium for 1 week after restored with a temporary material.

Endodontic Procedure with Articaine and ProTaper Next

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
After local anaesthetic (4% articaine with 1:100,000 epinephrine) application and rubber-dam placement, the operator removed all former coronal restorations and caries present. Following access cavity preparation, the working lengths were determined electronically using a Propex Pixi device (Dentsply Maillefer, Ballaigues, Switzerland) and confirmed by periapical radiographs. The root canals were prepared using ProTaper Next nickel-titanium files (Dentsply Maillefer, Ballaigues, Switzerland) with an X-Smart Plus Endo Motor (Dentsply Maillefer, Ballaigues, Switzerland) at a speed of 300 rpm and 2 N/cm according to the manufacturer’s instructions up to the size of X4 (size 40, 0.06 taper). During root canal preparation, the canals were irrigated with 2 ml of 2.5% NaOCl using a 30-gauge, side-opening needle (Canal Clean; Biodent, Seoul, South Korea) positioned 3 mm short of the working length.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
