Gp130fl/fl mice were from Dr. Rodger McEver at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. The ARR2PB-Cre transgenic mice were from Dr. Fen Wang at the Institute of Bioscience and Technology, Texas A&M Health Science Center. Mice were genotyped by polymerase chain reaction using mouse genomic DNA from tail biopsy specimens. The sequences of genotyping primers are listed in Supplementary Table 4. PCR products were separated electophoretically on 1% agarose gels and visualized via ethidium bromide under UV light. All the mice used in this study received humane care in compliance with the principles stated in the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, NIH Publication, 1996 edition, and the protocols were approved by the Institutional Animal Care Committee at the Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Washington.
