Radiographic Assessment of Mandible Bone Regeneration

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Following a post-surgical period, conventional radiographic examination and computer tomography (CT) of the mandible body after euthanasia were carried out to assess the regeneration of the cortical bone tissue.
The radiographs in the lateral view of the porcine head were obtained using an X-ray machine (Philips Digital Diagnost, Delft, The Netherlands).
CT scans of the head were obtained with a computed tomograph (Philips Brilliance 40-slice CT, the Netherlands) in the axial and sagittal plane. They were used to evaluate neoformation of the bone tissue on the mandible.

Evaluating Bone Regeneration via X-ray and CT

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
X-ray analysis was done employing X-ray equipment (Philips Digital Diagnost, The Netherlands) at the exposure settings of 55–60 kV and 1.8–4.9 mAs and the pixel size of 0.133 mm. CT scans were obtained using a CT (Philips Brilliance 40-slice CT, Delft, The Netherlands) with the following scanning parameters: 120 kV, 250 mA, 300 mAs, pixel size 0.283 mm, thickness of slices 2 mm. We evaluated the presence of nonresorbed and nondegraded biomaterial, pathological and inflammatory changes, and the density of the newly formed bone tissue compared to the surrounding physiological bone. The bone density was evaluated using Hounsfield units (HU).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
