Frozen brain tissue samples were homogenized in ice-cold PBS. The homogenate was centrifuged at 4 °C, 15000×g for 10 min. Protein quantification was carried out using the BCA Protein Assay Kit. The levels of tumour necrosis factor (TNF)-α (E-EL-R2856c, Elabscience, China) and interleukin (IL)-1β (E-EL-R0012c, Elabscience, China) were detected by ELISA according to the manufacturer's instructions. The activity of glutathione (GSH; A006-2-1, Nanjing Jiancheng Bioengineering Institute, China) and glutathione-peroxidase (GSH-Px; A005-1-2, Nanjing Jiancheng Bioengineering Institute, China) were determined by colorimetric method as per the manufacturer's instructions.

The whole blood routine in mice was examined using ABAXIS (Union City, CA, USA). The collected blood samples were allowed to stand on ice for 30 min, then centrifuged at 3000 rpm for 10 min, and the supernatant was collected. The activities of tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and catalase (CAT) in serum were detected following the instructions of the kits (SEKH-0047, BC0175, BC0205, Solarbio, Beijing, China), respectively. Glutathione catalase (GSH-Px, A005-1-2, Nanjing Jiancheng Bioengineering Institute, Nanjing, China) kits were used to check the levels of GSH-Px contents in serum according to the instructions.
