Synthesis of Fluorinated Polymer Nanocomposites

2,2,2-Trifluoroethyl methacrylate (TFEMA, Fluorochem, Hadfield, UK) and 4-vinyl pyridine (VP, 95%, Aldrich, St. Louis, MO, USA) were used after purification by an inhibitor remover column (inhibitor removers, Aldrich). 4-Cyano-4-(phenylcarbonothioylthio)pentanoic acid (CTP, 97%, Aldrich), 1,4-dioxane (99.5%, Acros, Geel, Belgium), hexane (95%, Duksan, Ansan, Korea), tetrahydrofuran (THF, 99.5%, Duksan), toluene (anhydrous, 99.8%, Aldrich), chloroform (extra pure grade, Duksan), methanol (99.8%, Duksan), and hydrofluoric acid (50.0%, Duksan) were used as received without further purification. 2,2′-Azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN, 98%, Junsei, Tokyo, Japan) was used after recrystallization in methanol. HOPG (graphene nanoplatelets, M-25 grade, XG Sciences, Lansing, MI, USA) was used as a source of graphene nanoplatelets. Ultra-pure water (resistivity > 18.2 MΩ·cm, Purelab, Elga, High Wycombe, UK) was used throughout the experiments.

Myristic acid (D27, 98%) as internal standard was obtained from Cambridge Isotope Laboratories (Tewksbury, MA, USA). Certified ACS grade sodium hydroxide was purchased from Standard Chemical and hydrochloric acid was from VWR International LLC (Pennsylvania, USA). Formic acid and BSTFA (with 1% TMCS) were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich. Methanol and chloroform were obtained from Tedia (Fairfield, USA) and hexane obtained from Duksan Pure Chemicals Co., Ltd (South Korea).

acetate (CsAc, 99.99%) and τitanium(IV) isopropoxide (TIPP,
99.999% trace metals bases), octane (anhydrous, ≥99%), methyl
acetate (MeOAc, anhydrous 99.5%), 4-tert-butylpyridine
(tBP, 96%), chlorobenzene (anhydrous, 99.8%), acetonitrile (anhydrous,
99.8%), molybdenum(VI) oxide (MoOx, 99.97% trace metals basis), bis(trifluoromethane)
sulfonimide lithium salt (Li-TFSI, 99.95% trace metals basis), and
FK 102 Co(III) TFSI Salt (98%) were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich.
Lead(II) iodide (PbI2, 99.99%) was purchased from Xi’an
Polymer Light Technology Corp. Hexane (GR grade 95%) was purchased
from DUKSAN. Spiro-OMeTAD was purchased from YingKou YouXuan Technology
Corp. HCl (37%) HNO3 (68%), and EtOH were purchased from
RCL Labscan Limited. All of the chemicals were used without further
purification.

Polylysine was synthesized with l-lysine and NaOH in a 1L-reactor, and the molecular weight was approximately 1500. TAMRA and FITC were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (US).
