Fk 320

Manufactured by Evonik
Sourced in United States

The FK 320 is a laboratory filtration device designed for the separation of solid and liquid components from a mixture. It features a stainless steel housing and can accommodate filter media up to 320 mm in diameter. The core function of the FK 320 is to provide a controlled and efficient filtration process in a laboratory setting.

Particles used in this study were crystalline silica DQ12 (SiO2, d50 = 2.2 µm; DMT, Essen, Germany); crystalline Min-U-Sil® 5 (d50 = 1.6 µm, US Silica Company, Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, USA); monodisperse silica spheres (MSS, d50 = 1 µm, Fiber Optic Center Inc., New Bedford MA, USA); and nanosized silica (Aerosil OX50 and FK 320, respectively 40 nm and 15 nm, Evonik, Degussa, Frankfurt AM, Germany), carbon black (CB, ultrafine, d50 = 35 nm, ENSACO 250G, Timcal), carbon nanotubes (CNT/CNT-7/MWCNT-7, d = 75 nm, L = 7.1 µm, Mitsui, Tokyo, Japan), asbestos (crocidolite, d = 200 nm, L = 3 µm, UICC, Geneva, Switzerland), tungsten carbide (WC, d50 < 1 µm; Johnson Matthey, Royston, United Kingdom) and cobalt oxide (Co3O4, d50 < 10 μm, Sigma Aldrich, St. Louis, Missouri, USA, now part of Merck). To sterilize and inactivate any trace of endotoxin, particles were heated at 200 °C for 2 h.

Silica Nanoparticles for Responsive Polymer Synthesis

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Two types of solid commercial silica nanoparticles named AOX50 and FK320 (Sipernat) by Evonik were used in this work. N-Isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM), azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN), 3-(methacryloxypropyl)-trimethoxysilane (MPS), 1,4-dioxane, methylene blue (MB), caffeine (CF) and amoxicillin (AMX) were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich, Italy. All the solvents used for the synthesis were of high purity and used as received. 1,4-Dioxane was kept on molecular sieves overnight before using for polymerization reaction.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
