Quantification of insulin, omentin, vaspin, adiponectin and inflammatory cytokines in serum was performed using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit. Quantitative measurements of rat insulin in serum were taken using the Abnova kit (Abnova Corporation, Taipei, Taiwan). All the used kits followed the producer's recommendations, and the results were expressed in pg/ml or ng/ml.
