[3H]-Clonidine (61.3 Ci/mmol) was purchased from Perkin Elmer (Courtaboeuf, France). Specs compounds (AE; AF; AG; AI; AK; AN; AO; AP) were purchased from Specs (Delft, The Netherlands). 6-monoacetylmorphine, codeine, cocaethylene, norcocaine, desomorphine, dihydromorphine, hydrocodone, hydromorphone, norbuprenorphine, oxycodone, and oxymorphone were obtained from Lipomed (Euromedex, Souffelweyersheim, France) and heroin, methadone, and morphine from Francopia (Paris, France). Methylenedioxy-methylamphetamine (MDMA, ecstasy) was synthetized by Dr H. Galons from the chemistry department of Paris University. All other chemicals were purchased from Sigma (St Quentin Fallavier, France) except diphenhydramine (Inresa, Strasbourg, France), cocaine (Cooper, Melun, France), and D617 (Carbosynth, Campton, UK).

Simultaneous LCMS Analysis of Psychoactive Drugs

Standard solutions of the analytes alprazolam (ALP), citalopram (CIT), diazepam (DIAZ), doxepin (DOX), flunitrazepam (FLUN), fluoxetine (FLUOX), carbamazepine (CARB), cocaethylene (COCET), cocaine (COC), norcocaine (NORCOC), nordiazepam (NORDIAZ), nortriptyline (NORTR), oxazepam (OXA), temazepam (TEM), and venlafaxine (VEN) were purchased from Lipomed AG (Arlesheim, Switzerland). Deuterated derivatives of the analytes alprazolam-d5, diazepam-d5, flunitrazepam-d3, fluoxetine-d6, carbamazepine-d10, nordiazepam-d5, oxazepam-d5, and temazepam-d5, used as internal standards, were also purchased from Lipomed AG (Arlesheim, Switzerland). The selected number of 15 analytes, including six metabolites, was considered sufficient given that it was a preliminary study, and increasing the complexity of the method could potentially cause selectivity problems.
High-purity LC-MS chromatographic solvents acetonitrile, methanol, isopropyl alcohol, and sodium hydroxide obtained from Fluka Analytical (Seelze, Germany) were used in the experiment. Analytical-grade solvents acetonitrile, methanol, isopropyl alcohol, sodium hydroxide, and ammonium formate from Sigma-Aldrich (St. Louis, MO, USA) and formic acid obtained from Merck (Darmstadt, Germany) were also used. Deionized ultrapure water (18.2 M Ω · cm, TOC < 5 ppb) was obtained with the Milli-Q Plus system (Millipore, Bedford, MA, USA).

Chemicals LC-MS grade water was purchased from Huberlab (Aesch, Switzerland); methanol was purchased from VWR (Darmstadt, Germany); formic acid was purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (Buchs, Switzerland). Benzoylecgonine, norcocaine, cocaine, cocaine-d3, methylecgonine, cocaethanol, tramadol, O-desmethyltramadol, and N-desmethyltramadol were purchased from Lipomed AG (Arlesheim, Switzerland). A pool of human urine was made using nine anonymous donors and was stored at -20 °C prior to analysis.
Computer-aided design and 3D printing 3DP-OPP and other models were designed in Autodesk Fusion360 software (San Rafael, USA). Source files in .stl format containing various parts are available in the ESI. † A FormLabs Form 2 SLA printer (Artsupport GmbH, RümLang, Switzerland) was used for printing a 3DP-OPP with High Temp resin due to its compatibility with methanol and a printing liquid handler tool with Clear resin because it is more flexible and resistant to impact. The model was oriented at 45°t owards the table and sliced at 0.05 mm resolution using the PreForm software (FormLabs, Somerville, USA). The density of the supports was set to 0.60 and the point size was set to 0.50 mm. An X400CE FDM printer and PLA filament (German RepRap GmbH, Feldkirchen, Germany) were used for printing other parts.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
