Synthetic DNA oligonucleotides (Table S1) were purchased from Integrated DNA Technologies (San Diego, CA). Restriction endonucleases were purchased from Thermo Fisher Scientific (Waltham, MA). PCR and restriction digestion products were purified by gel electrophoresis and extracted using the Syd Labs Gel Extraction kit (Malden, MA). Plasmid DNA was purified using the Syd Labs Miniprep kit (Malden, MA). DNA sequencing was analyzed by Retrogen (San Diego, CA). Mammalian cell imaging was performed on a Leica DMi8 microscope equipped with a Photometrics Prime 95B sCMOS camera. Other materials and general procedures were acquired or performed as previously described (Chen et al., 2012 (link), 2013 (link), 2016b (link)).

PCR and restriction digest products were purified by gel electrophoresis and extracted using Zymoclean Gel DNA Recovery kit. Plasmid DNA was purified using GenCatch Plasmid DNA Miniprep kit. Sanger DNA sequencing was conducted by Eurofins Genomics (Louisville, KY).
