Keratinocyte sfm k sfm

Manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific
Sourced in United States

Keratinocyte-SFM (K-SFM) is a serum-free, defined medium designed for the growth and maintenance of human keratinocytes. It contains essential nutrients, growth factors, and supplements required for the optimal growth of keratinocytes in vitro.

Immortalized Prostate Epithelial Cell Line

The immortalized human prostate epithelial cell line (RWPE-1) was obtained from the American Type Culture Collection. RWPE-1 cells were cultured in Keratinocyte-SFM (K-SFM, Invitrogen Co., Carlsbad, CA, USA) supplemented with 0.05 mg/mL bovine pituitary extract (BPE) and 5 ng/mL epidermal growth factor (EGF) in a humidified atmosphere containing 5% CO2.

Epidermal and Dermal Stem Cell Models

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Human keratinocytes (HDK1), a cell line established by Egawa et al. [30 (link)], were used as an epidermal stem/progenitor cell model. HDK1 cells have been reported to be epidermal stem cells with a potential to form three-dimensional (3D) reconstructed epidermis in culture and positive for Integrin beta-1 (ITGB1) and Integrin alpha-6 (ITGA6) that are both known as epidermal stem cell markers [31 (link),32 (link)]. SF8428 line established by Ban S et al. was used as a dermal stem/progenitor cell model [33 (link),34 ]. SF8428 has been reported to be mesenchymal stem cell-like fibroblasts with multiple differentiation potentials [35 (link)]. We showed that SF8428 expressed mesenchymal stem cell markers, CD105 and CD44 (Fig. S1). HDK1 and SF8428 were cultured in Keratinocyte-SFM (KSFM; Invitrogen, CA, USA) and in DMEM supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS; Sigma–Aldrich, MO, USA), respectively.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
