Cardiac ALDH2 and Catalase Activity Assays

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Cardiac ALDH2 and catalase activities were measured by commercial kits for ALDH2 activity assay kit (Abcam, Ann Arbor, MI) and colorimetric CAT assay kit (Sigma-Aldrich, St. Louis, MO), respectively. We followed the manufacturer’s protocols and our reported studies (El-Mas et al., 2012 (link), Ibrahim et al., 2014 (link), Yao and Abdel-Rahman, 2016 (link), Yao and Abdel-Rahman, 2017b (link)).

Quantification of ALDH2 and Catalase Activity

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The supernatant of homogenized left ventricular tissue (5 μg and 500 μg protein) was used for measurement of ALDH2 and catalase activities by mitochondrial ALDH2 activity assay kit (Abcam, Ann Arbor, MI) and colorimetric CAT assay kit (Sigma-Aldrich, St. Louis, MO), respectively. Manufacturer’s instructions were followed as in our previous studies (El-Mas et al., 2012 (link); Ibrahim et al., 2014 (link); Yao and Abdel-Rahman, 2016 (link)).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
