Fluorescence Quantum Yield Measurements

Static absorption (Shimadzu UV-1800) and emission (Horiba Nanolog) and other measurements were performed on dilute (μM), Ar-purged solutions in toluene at room temperature. Fluorescence quantum yields (Φf) utilized samples with A ≤ 0.1 at the excitation wavelength and were obtained by absolute measurements (Horiba QuantiPhi). Values for several arrays were also obtained by relative Φf measurements using meso-tetraphenylporphyrin in non-degassed toluene (Φf = 0.070)30 (link) as a standard and gave the same values as the absolute measurements within experimental uncertainty (±5% of the reported value).

Optical Characterization of Compounds

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Static absorption (Shimadzu UV-1800), static emission (Horiba Nanolog; PTI Quantamaster), and other measurements were performed at room temperature on dilute (mM), Ar-purged solutions of compounds in toluene. Some absorption spectra were acquired at 295 or 77 K on samples in 2-methyltetrahydrofuran. Determination of F f values utilized samples with A r 0.1 at the excitation wavelength and used mesotetraphenylporphyrin in non-degassed toluene (F f = 0.070) 45 or Phen-BC (F f = 0.004) 21 as a standard. Transient absorption (TA) studies utilized an ultrafast laser system with (0.5-1 mJ) B100 fs excitation flashes from a 1 kHz Ti:sapphire laser system (Spectra Physics) and Helios spectrometer (Ultrafast Systems). TA data were analyzed using Surface Xplorer (Ultrafast Systems), CarpetView (Light Conversion), and custom routines in OriginPro (OriginLab).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
