Stanbio cholesterol liquicolor kit

Manufactured by EKF Diagnostics
Sourced in United States

The Stanbio Cholesterol LiquiColor® kit is a laboratory diagnostic assay used for the quantitative determination of cholesterol levels in human serum or plasma. The kit utilizes a series of enzymatic reactions to produce a colored complex, which is then measured photometrically to determine the cholesterol concentration.

Measuring Cholesterol Levels in VHSV-Infected Fish

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Ten larvae from each group were injected with VHSV (~103 TCID50/larvae), and control fish were injected with phosphate-buffered saline (PBS). Fish were incubated at 18°C. At different time points, the fish were frozen and homogenized in 1 mL PBS, and cholesterol levels were measured using a Stanbio Cholesterol LiquiColor® kit (Stanbio Laboratory, TX, USA). Cholesterol content was standardized according to the amount of genomic DNA in the samples.
Viperin-stabilized cells were used for in vitro lipid analysis. The cells were infected with rVHSV (16 (link)) and fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde (Electron Microscopy Sciences) at room temperature (RT) for 10 min. The cells were washed with 1× PBS. The working oil redo solution (Sigma, USA) was prepared by mixing the oil redo stock (0.5% in 2-propanol) in dH2O at a 3:2 ratio. The working solution was added to the cells, which were subsequently incubated for 15 min at RT. The cells were washed with dH2O and imaged at ×40 magnification (Leica Microsystems, Germany).

Plasma Metabolic Biomarkers Assessment

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Plasma IGF1 and insulin were quantified using a mouse IGF-1 ELISA kit (80574) and ultra-sensitive mouse insulin ELISA kit (90080), respectively, from Crystal Chem (Elk Grove Village, IL, USA). Plasma triglyceride and free fatty acid were assessed using triglyceride colorimetric assay kit (10010303) and free fatty acid fluorometric assay kit (700310) from Cayman Chemical (Cayman Chemical, Ann Arbor, MI, USA), respectively. Plasma cholesterol was assessed using the stanbio cholesterol liquicolor kit (1010225) from Stanbio Laboratory (Boerne, TX, USA).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
