Formulation Excipient Procurement Protocol

The RT used in this study was purchased from Cayman Chemicals (Ann Arbor, MI, USA). The Kolliphor® EL, Kolliphor® HS 15, Tween 20, triethanolamine, and glycerol were purchased from Sigma Aldrich (Taufkirchen, Germany). The Caproyl 90 (propylene glycol monocaprylate) and Transcutol HP were purchased from Gattefosse (Saint Priest, France). Captex® 355, Capmul® MCM, and Capmul® PG-12 were provided by the Abitec Corporation (Columbus, OH USA). Water was obtained using a Milli-Q water purification system (Millipore; Billerica, MA, USA). All other chemicals used in this study were analytical grade reagents.

Raloxifene-Naringin Lipid Formulations

Raloxifene hydrochloride (RLX) was provided by Aarti Drugs Ltd. (New Delhi, India) while naringin hydrate (NRG) and KBr were obtained from Tokyo Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. (Tokyo, Japan). Labrasol®, Labrafac®, Precirol ATO5®, Transutol®, Labrafil®, Caproyl 90®, Capmul MCM®, Gelucire 50/13®, Gelucire 48/16®, and Compritol 888 ATO® were generously provided by Gattefosse (Saint-Priest, France). Soyabean oil, peanut oil, sesame oil, corn oil, glyceryl monostearate, and sunflower oil were purchased from Loba Chemie (Chennai, India). Methanol, acetonitrile, ethyl oleate, PEG 400, Tween 80®, D-mannitol, methylene chloride, and hydrochloric acid were received from Central Drug House Pvt. Ltd. (Chennai, India). Almond oil, olive oil, castor oil, and 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) were obtained from SRL Pvt. Ltd. (Chennai, India). Oleic acid, rhodamine B, and stearic acid were received from Sigma-Aldrich (New Delhi, India). The other materials utilized in this work were of standard analytical quality and used as received from their commercial source.

CFX-loaded Nanoemulsion Formulation

Cefixime (CFX) was donated from Global Pharmaceutical Industry, Ltd. (Islamabad, Pakistan). Tween 80 (polyoxy ethylene sorbitan monooleate) and Span 80 (sorbitan monooleate) were obtained from Sigma Aldrich, Germany. Caproyl 90 (propylene glycol monocaprylate) was purchased from Gattefosse, Lyon, France. Kolliphor EL (polyoxyl 35 hydrogenated castor oil), Propylene glycol (1,2-propanediol) and PEG 400 (polyethylene glycol) from VMR Chemicals, (UK). Oleic acid (cis-9-octadecenoic acid), Miglyol 812 (caprylic/capric triglyceride), clove oil and ethyl oleate were purchased from Aladdin Industrial Corporation, Shanghai, China. All chemicals were of analytical grade and so, were used without additional purification.

Caffeine-Infused Topical Formulations

Span 20, Span 80, Tween 80, rosemary oil, garlic oil, oleic acid, methanol (HPLC grade), and formaldehyde were bought from (El-Nasr Pharmaceutical Chemical Company, Cairo, Egypt). Labra l M1944, Transcutol HP, and Caproyl 90 were obtained from (Gattefosse, Cedex, France). Jojoba oil, Cremophor EL, hematoxylin, isopropyl myristate (IPM), eosin, xylene, Rhodamine B (RB), and para n beeswax were bought from Sigma-Aldrich Chemical Company, Cairo, Egypt. Caprylic/capric triglyceride, stearic acid, and GMS were bought from Pharmaceutical Egyptian Company, Cairo, Egypt. Amla oil was obtained from (Dabur Egypt limited company, Cairo, Egypt). Dipotassium hydrogen phosphate, potassium bromide (IR grade), and potassium dihydrogen phosphate were gotten from El-Gomhouria Company, Cairo, Egypt. Cellulose membrane was obtained from Sigma-Aldrich, Cairo, Egypt. ANOVA test "SPSS version 17.0 for Windows" (SPSS Inc., USA). Commercial (Market) lotion of caffeine (Dr. Wolff Plantur 39 Phyto caffeine tonic); Batch No. C60341 (Dr. Kurt Wolff, Bielefeld, Germany).
