Biocompatible Alginate-Chitosan Hydrogel

Barium chloride dihydrate and sodium sulfate anhydrous were purchased from Sinopharm Chemical Reagent Co., Ltd. Sodium alginate, chitosan, TA, ferric chloride hexahydrate, RH, amoxicillin, fluorescein diacetate and rhodamine B were obtained from Aladdin Industrial Inc. Microinjection pump was purchased from Zhejiang Smith Medical Instrument Co. Ltd. The phase structure was analysed by X‐ray diffraction (XRD) on a Rigaku‐D/MAX2500 diffractometer (Rigaku), equipped with a Cu Kα radiation source (λ = 0.15418 nm), with a slit of 0.5° and a scanning speed of 7° min−1, and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) on Escalab 250Xi (Thermo Scientific). High‐performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) instrument was purchased from Shimadzu.

Chitosan-based Delivery System for Ranitidine

Chitosan (CS; deacetylation ≥95%, viscosity 100–200 mPa.s), N-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-N’-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC; ≥98.5%), sodium alginate, ranitidine hydrochloride (RH), and ammonium acetate (≥99.0%) were purchased from Aladdin Industrial (Shanghai, China). 3,4-Dihydroxyhydrocinnamic acid (≥98%) was purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (St Louis, MO, USA). Solar Fluor 750 SE was purchased from Beijing Solarblo Science & Technology Co. (Beijing, China). Mucin type II was purchased from Macklin Biochemical Technology Co. (Shanghai, China). Barium chloride dihydrate, sodium sulfate anhydrous, trisodium citrate dihydrate, sodium chloride, acetic acid, methanol, and ethanol were purchased from Sinopharm Chemical Reagent Co. (Shanghai, China). All other chemicals and reagents were of analytical grade.

Hybrid Adsorbent for Heavy Metal Removal

Calcium chloride (CaCl2), magnesium sulfate heptahydrate (MgSO4·7H2O), lead(ii) acetate trihydrate (Pb(CH3COO)2·3H2O), barium chloride dihydrate (BaCl2·2H2O), copper(ii) chloride dihydrate (CuCl2·2H2O), ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and cadmium acetate dehydrate (Cd(CH3COO)2·2H2O) and xylenol orange (XO) were all purchased from Sinopharm Chemical Reagent Co. Ltd. (Shanghai, China) and were of p.a. quality. Ultrapure water used in the experiment was prepared by a UPH-IV ultrapure water purifier (Chengdu Ultrapure Technology Co. Ltd., China) with a resistivity of 18.25 MΩ cm.
